How to Install Opencart In Plesk

Minimum Requirements

  • PHP 5.2 or later

  • The PHP parameter file_uploads is set to 'on'

  • The PHP safe mode is off

  • The PHP parameter register_globals is set to 'off'

  • The PHP parameter magic_quotes_gpc is set to 'off'

  • The app requires a mysql database (mysql 4.1or above ).


To install Opencart in the Plesk, please follow the following settings:


  1. Login to Plesk control panel.

  2. Click the Application” tab.

  3. Click on to  “all available applications”.

  4. On the Application Search Bar , type in “opencart” and then click search

  5. Click Install the opencart in the results list.

  6. Read the license agreement and check the I accept checkbox if you agree; then click Next to proceed.

  7. In the first field at the top of the page, specify the domain and location where you would like to install opencart.

  • Do not leave the second field blank if you do not want the opencart to be your main website or if you already have content on the main file directory of your account.

    If you use (where is your domain and opencart is the file extension where the opencart can be accessed), the open will be installed to a subfolder on your domain.


  1. In the Administrative access section, choose to either Grant administrative access to existing user (which will integrate logins with the Control Panel) or Use administrative credentials not connected to any particular user.


  2. Click Show All Settings to specify more options:

  • Email - Leave this field as is if you wish to keep integration between the Control Panel and the application.

  • Database name and Database user name are generated by Plesk; you can change these if you have specific needs.

  • Database user password - Create a password if you've chosen to use administrative credentials not connected to any particular user.

  1. Click Install to finish the installation process.


You be redirected to an opencart management page where you can choose to change any settings you may have missed or misconfigured during installation.
