Installation of WordPress through Plesk Control Panel

There are several free applications available for installation via the Plesk Control Panel. In this tutorial we will be installing Joomla which is one of the leading Content Management Systems.
 
  1. Login to Plesk Control Panel using the credentials available with you.

  2. Click on the Applications tab.

  3. You will see a list of popular applications to install. You can also click on the option to view all the available applications, on the left.

  4. In this example, we will install WordPress. Click on Install under the WordPress icon. Wait for the application to download.

  5. You will be prompted to read and accept the application license. If you agree, check the box, then click Next.

  6. Next, you will need to choose the domain and path for your installation, and to create a password and administrative email. Then, click Install.

  • Installation path: Pick your domain from the dropdown menu, and enter a subfolder for your blog. You won't be able to leave it empty. If you need to install the blog at your document root, you will need to install WordPress manually instead.

  • Password: This will be your WordPress Dashboard password.

  • Administrator's email: This will be your WordPress admin email.

  1. The application will finish installing. Then, you'll be taken to the application details page. Here are a few of the most helpful links:

  • Settings button: Change your WordPress database username and password, your Dashboard username and password, blog title, et cetra.

  • Blog: View the blog.

  1. Administrative interface: A link to the WordPress dashboard. Your username is admin by default.

  2. At any time, you can get back to this page by following Steps 1 and 2 above to access the Applications tab, then clicking on the Manage Installed Applications link, and then finally on the link for your application.
